# 24 Prophecy, 2 Pet 1;20,21.

2 Peter 1; 20,21, "For you know this first, that no prophecy of scripture springs from any private interpretation (is a matter of one’s own interpretation) R.S.V. for prophecy was at no time brought about by mans will, but men spoke from God as they were born along by Holy Spirit".

What is prophecy? An inspired message?

It may be an inspired moral teaching, an expression of divine (God given) judgement or a declaration of something to come.

Prophets like Elijah proved who the true God is, 1Kings 18.

He was a true prophet, not like those he humiliated.

A prophet therefore is only genuine if his or her message is genuinely from God. Any others are then, false prophets, either, self-appointed, with selfish motives or appointed by the wicked one, Satan. The messages and or predictions of such ones are never 100% accurate or in harmony with God’s will and purpose, or reality.

The dream and the image recorded by Daniel foretold in minute detail

the rise and fall of world powers even down to this day.

For example, Saul Israel's first king, after being shunned by Jehovah and his prophets, sought out an unclean source to speak with the then dead prophet Samuel. The message was meant to look as though it were from the raised from the dead spirit of God’s faithful prophet. There are however points of interest. Samuel refused to speak to King Saul while alive, why would he if dead? On this point, the scriptures clearly say, “the dead are conscious of nothing”, how then could Samuel have a conversation with anyone?

Also, the teaching that man has an immortal soul is likewise false. This teaching, I believe, came from the city of Babel, from where and along with many other cancerous teachings, is demonic.

Even more evident to these, so called predictions, (not being Divine) although impressive, had obvious flaws and was not 100% accurate.

These and many other predictions, abundant in the world, are clearly demonic.

The folly of listening to such false stories and the potential of losing God’s favour, as Saul did, is a clear warning to all.

Divine Prophecy

However, the true God has foretold far reaching future events that would have an impact on mankind future and his relationship with us that will serve as a message for all time. In stark contrast to false prophecy, Jehovah God has revealed with 100% accuracy details of things to come that no man or Demon could ever know. How? The Word explains, “remember the things of long ago, that I Am The Divine One. And there is no other God, nor anyone like me, the one telling from the beginning the finale, and from long ago the things that have not been done; the one saying, ‘my own counsel will stand, and everything that is my delight, I shall do’, the one calling from the sunrising, a bird of prey, from a distant land, The Man to execute my counsel. I have even spoken it; I shall also bring it in. I have formed it, I shall also do it’. Isaiah 46; 9-11.

In an instant of time, Jehovah can see all history related to his purpose for righteous mankind. All history lain out before him like a carpet. Prophecy, true prophecy, isn’t just a prediction, it is history in advance. Realities that are yet to happen. Like being able to read an entire book in an instant, not just jumping to the last page to see how it all ends. The true God knows all things that will shape the future of those who love him, and all creation. There are in fact, many, many, prophecies that have shaped man’s future in the past, shouldn’t we listen to them?

The prophet Isaiah states how vital that you and I should pay attention to these and all prophetic guidance.

Isaiah 48; 17-19, “I Jehovah am your God, the one teaching you to benefit yourself, the one causing you to tread in the way in which you should walk. O if only you would actually pay attention to my commandments! Then your peace will become just like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea. And your offspring would become just like the sand, and your inward parts like the grains of it. One’s name would not be cut off or annihilated from before me”. Our paying attention to God’s prophetic word would count as wisdom on our part. Not only does it guarantee a solid, permanent relationship with our God and Father, we also are building a stable future for our children for countless generations, if, they too benefit themselves pay paying attention. So much so that our inheritance will be similar to that offered to Abraham. If he promised it, “he will do it”.

Obviously, offspring of that magnitude would need housing. This too is prophesied, look it up for yourselves. What though of those who find themselves on the wrong side of God’s prophetic word?

Although there were many individuals, men and women, along with their families who searched for the true God, who were blessed, and benefited themselves. There were even more who followed the crowd or leant on their own understanding, one striking example was Jeroboam, son of Nebat. God’s prophet Ahijah approached him with an offer from Jehovah. 10 of the 12 tribes he would rule as king with the 2 remaining being under the control of the house of David, through Rehoboam. Also, in fulfilment of Jehovah’s promise to David, the king, Jeroboam’s rule was only to be governmental. Pure worship was to remain with David’s house in Jerusalem. If Jeroboam did this, he was promised a lasting house of succession like David.

What happened, Jeroboam saw the peoples going to worship in Jerusalem and feared the peoples would eventually be swayed by Rehoboam. Instead of trusting Jehovah’s prophetic word, which was becoming reality before his eyes, he set up the disgusting two calves and an imitation priesthood, made up of any who was willing to purchase the position. The result, he polluted to an extreme the worship and rule of many kings. Making idolatrous places of worship on every high place and even leading to peoples burning their children in fire as a sacrifice to false god’s. interestingly in commenting on this, Jehovah declared that burning in fire like that was a thing “that could not come up into his heart”, refuting the false teaching of many religions of hellfire and the like. An inconceivable concept to the living God. Yet again, and again, and again, Jehovah sent his prophets to ones like Jeroboam. Displaying great longsuffering and patience toward rebellious man, hoping that some might have their feet directed on the path to life, many did, but not the majority. They chose the wrong side of prophecy. Not till the day’s of good king Josiah was the land cleansed of their false worship.

We, like Jeroboam also have the blessings before us, what side of prophecy will we choose? If we want a good name with Jehovah we must listen to his voice, take in knowledge, use discernment and become wise so he can make our paths straight.

So then, prophecy is not just commands or predictions, it is a guide for our feet. To ensure our path is towards life, we must learn from prophetic pronouncements, past, present and future.

If a people begin to say; “another way is how we should walk?” or “I wonder how they worshipped?” or “is it really so?” be forearmed, not blown this way and that, off course. Although our life is blessed with free will, never allow our free will, and that of our children to be decided by others in directing our future. Our feet need to be in step with prophetic reality, anything else is futile.

What are some prophecies that to God’s loyal ones to direct their steps in the past?

With just a handful of words the future was set. God said to the Word, “Let us make man”, “Male and female” he made them. This was not just another creative endeavour, no! man was to be made “in His image”, with the potential for wonderous achievement. We were made with more than just feelings and emotions than the birds and animals etc. We were designed with the potential to have Devine qualities, like God. Justice, Wisdom, Power and Love, a sense of right and wrong, good and bad.

With an inbuilt need to grow, multiply and continually take in knowledge. With a similar prospect as the Angels, to become like God, his children. To imitate his prime qualities, wisdom, justice, power and love. This statement was no passing fancy, no! he had long planned and purposed to create mankind, a being “a little lower than Angels”, but still with the ability to take on responsibility and accountability, to be an active family member. To care for his earthly home, to love their fellow man and most important, to continually grow our relationship with our God and Father under the direction of our biggest brother, Christ Jesus.

This plan was instituted well before the vast universe was created. For God’s word clearly states, “the Earth was not created simply for nothing, but even to be inhabited”. So along with the countless other stars and Earths, God’s power in the capable hands of his firstborn, aided by his heavenly brothers have been hard at work. We however are his hopes and dreams, God’s purpose, us! He, being the one “seeing the finale”, he obviously knew there would be challenges and opposition along the way, especially from his enemies. Things could at times gone better if Satan didn’t interfere and if ones like Jeroboam, son of Nebat listened to God's counsel.

Still, despite the many challenges, he had faith in his creation, in us, that ones would prove themselves and be on the right side of prophecy. Given the right direction, we can benefit ourselves and have our steps directed prosperously, to his praise and glory, for he purposed it “he will also do it”.

With this purpose, (to make man in his image), this goal, this reality though “not yet beheld”, for him and us, he had all these words recorded for his children, as an anchor for our souls and a foundation of prophecy to come, that all his promises would be, yes! By means of Jesus our lord. How was all this to become, yes!

Genesis 3; 15, “and I shall put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will bruise you in the head and you will bruise him in the heal”. This prophecy laid the groundwork for all else to follow. We then can rest our hope on him, knowing everything is under control. So, who or what are the players or elements that are describes in Gen 3:15?

· You! Is none other than Satan the Devil, the original serpent. Formerly one of God’s own sons who set himself up as a god in opposition to Jehovah, deserving of condemnation and judgement due to his interfering with the human family. And in the process, derailing their close relationship with Jehovah and the Angels and robbing them of potential for everlasting life, and fighting against the Holy Spirit. Sparking the events that would lead to this prophecy’s fulfilment.

· Enmity- is a feeling of hatred or anger toward someone you disagree with. This was to be the ongoing relationship between Satan and his demons (other angels who followed in rebellion). The enmity goes both ways.

· The women- is the Heavenly organisation, made up of Jehovah’s heavenly his faithful ones.

· The seed- the one or ones who rise up to assault the other.

Satan has had many seeds over the 1000s of years. Anyone he could use to fight against God’s interests, influenced by the Demons. This seed of Satan was used to bruise Jesus “in the heal” by putting him to death in 33 C.E. this was only a temporary injury as he was raised to life soon after.

Jehovah’s Seed however is one. This Seed, promised through the family line of Abraham would prove to be Jesus and once enthroned as King of God’s Kingdom would act as the Seed that would finally crush Satan in the head, a death blow.

This prophecy is still undergoing fulfilment and will have everlasting effects. As Revelation puts it “the smoke” or lesson will “keep on ascending”. A reminder and lesson for all time.

The results of the rebellion by Satan, Adam and Eve, sin and death, still affects us today.

Notice I say Adam before Eve. Eve was deceived, inexperienced. Adam, however, deliberately followed the crowd as it were. He could have approached his God and Father about the situation, he spoke to him every day, but CHOSE to eat. What are the results to the first pair and their descendants since?

Eve,

· An increase of birth pain. Apparently its not supposed to be traumatic.

· And a craving for her husband affections. Unsatisfied, even to this day, many women start and go on with, toxic relations with a man. “He will dominate you”. The sad reality is that instead of a close loving union, one flesh, equal, life has been a challenge for women of all backgrounds.

Adam,

· Work life and providing for his family would be a drudgery, a seemingly never-ending struggle for many. Filled with stress and strain all his days. So, it has been for many husbands and fathers. Seemingly more work than pleasure. They work all their days till they retire and for most their health has detreated then they die. Both men and women.

And so started the treadmill that man has been on for these many years, one act of rebellion, one act of unfaithfulness. All the while, “man has dominated man, to his injury”, where the greedy dominate, only themselves to die and “return to the dust”. There is no victory over death, the small or the great, the famous or the lowly, young or old.

These events have laid the groundwork for mans experience, since that day. Jehovah however also has a way out of sickness and death for his loyal ones.

Let’s look at some other moments in time that were prophesied. Also, the blessings for those who had their eyes open.

In the publication, “Insight on The Scriptures”, published by J.W.s, vol 2, page 692. Under the subheading “Prophecy and time of fulfilment”. The faithful Anointed make this observation, “Prophecy, weather prediction, simply inspired instruction, or reproof, serve for the benefit of both those initially hearing it and those in ALL future periods who would put faith in God’s word.”

During all the events that led to the plight of mankind, Adam and Eve failed to see the vital importance of paying attention to God’s prophetic word and paid the ultimate price. Since, all have been slaves to this system of things. They and we had lost God’s full power and protection, leading to eventual death. But not all!

After leaving Eden, children were born. Abel was one who sought a relationship with the true God, with his whole heart. And will be remembered with life in paradise. “For Jehovah will have a longing for the work of his hands”. Others too before the flood "Walked with God". What a beautiful day that will be. We can only imagine. Jehovah however, can already see it, feel it.

Most however did not search for the true God, choosing instead to follow “the god of this system of things”. Wrongdoing and violence soon became the norm.

As a result, a pivotal prophecy was delivered by the 7th in line from Adam, Enoch. For people who choose for themselves to ignore the prophetic Word and destruction.

Jude 15 states, “look! Jehovah came with his holy myriads, to execute judgement against all, and to convict all the ungodly, concerning all their ungodly deeds that they did in an ungodly way, and concerning all the shocking things that ungodly sinners spoke against him”. This prophecy likewise has importance for mankind from all time periods. Notice the emphasis on “ungodly”, those who choose or inherit a course of violence and bad. The ungodly fail to demonstrate the truth that man is “made in God’s image”. Instead, their cloths are filled with blood and are on the road to nowhere, no life, no peace, nothing. The only thing that will sadly remain of such ones will be also “ascending in the smoke’, a lesson for all.

When this prophecy had its first major fulfilment, the word about the ungodly must have rung in the ears of the pre-flood residence on Earth. “Noah, a preacher of righteousness”, along with his little family not only preached his Word, His Love, they also headed the prophecy, they also FOLLOWED instruction for the "preservation of life" and survived.

As 2 Peter 2, tells us that false prophets would arise, this has been the case in nearly every season. Sowing doubt, leaving people with questions instead of answers or action on their part. Till, the door was shut on the arc with no more offer of help. Too late! Too bad for them! I’m sure in that day many were likely considered to be nice people, good neighbours etc, but their eyes were shut tight, they just couldn’t change their course, adjust their thinking or be told. As with many times through human history they failed to hear, Too bad for them!

Yet again, another example; God’s servant Israel was told the day would come when they would be freed from bondage and slavery before Egypt and her false gods.

Did they benefit when God’s Word spilled out before them? On the whole, No!

Even with a strong hand and many wonders as evidence, they remained as ones with no eyes at all, they did not want to see! Why?

Selfish pride, and again they preferred to gobble up any word that aided their rebellion. Why?

There were likely many reasons but they certainly wanted a life of their own choosing.

Even if it meant rejecting the promises and the real life, from a loving God, father and benefactor. Joshua and Caleb chose to be on Jehovah’s side of prophecy, and the young who witnessed these things were the ones who received the inheritance of the promised land.

Once these had grown old and died, yet again those who didn’t see with their own eyes these things began to shut them. Again, choosing to live a life of their own design, gods of no value and ignoring God’s prophetic word.

Some like Samuel, Esther and Sampson’s mom held onto Jehovah and his prophetic Word.

It was imprinted in their hearts. How could they choose a rebellious course once God’s qualities like love, peace, hospitality, loyalty and his promises were flourishing in the seedbed of their hearts?

What about you? There are countless prophecies that have been and are being fulfilled, right now! Will you be one who allows false prophets, that Jezebel or others to put out your hope?

With comments like; Is it real so? Did that really happen?

Just yesterday I saw a doctor about my physical and neurological ailments, after totally ignoring my ailments and symptoms, tried to tell me that all my issues are my doing?

Psychoanalysis where none was needed, spouting Darwinism and his own brand of enlightenment. Offering no medical assistance at all. He came across as either a bully or influenced by the demons.

Whenever people try to cast doubt it lights a fire in me, knowing that Jehovah allows this, not causes it. It makes the path Jehovah wants me to walk clearer, especially when they spout illogical, contradictory talk with no real answers or benefit. Whereas all that God asks of us is clear, defined, logical and beneficial.

The evidence is clear, you are not just a “mistake of evolution”, you have the ability to make a real difference, to make God’s heart rejoice. By paying “more than usual” to the prophetic Word, you will be founded as a son or daughter of the living God. Your name will be famous to him and admired in the heavenly places. Fame from men is of no value, ordinary is perfectly fine. What is of value are God like qualities, long suffering, patience, maturity etc. as exemplified by the Lord Jesus. Qualities that can and do reside in you, cultivate these.

Keep your eyes opened, don’t shut them tight, don’t allow them to be enticed by the desire of the eyes, like Eve. Desire the things your eyes of faith, can see. These things are more real and lasting than a piece of fruit, here today, gone tomorrow.

Guard against any form of spiritism, enquiry of the dead, fortune tellers, anything occult like. For ones who do are jeopardising their futures. Even Satan attempts to "change times and seasons".

If you stand firm, I will tell you what it will be like. Jehovah would declare, “have you seen my daughter, have you seen my son? They do love me, and I will show them my love in abundance”.

Yes, Jehovah well knows, as he has from the beginning, many "will benefit themselves" due to his guidance, counsel, his prophetic Word. We know he loves us, otherwise he would not have bothered to record such a vast array of prophesies to build our trust, our faith, our love and confidence in him and his purpose for the future, the kingdom arrangement.

I saw a young couple, arm in arm. He, looked at peace, proud of the love he had found and no longer doubting he could find the one. She, had a faraway look in her eyes, as if seeing her whole life in the heart of this young man, resting all her dreams and hopes on his strong shoulders. In such a relationship, many things seem possible. With our relationship with Jehovah, all things are possible. There is no uncertainty with Jehovah as with people.

Wholehearted people throughout time have recognised his loving hand, his comforting guidance in man’s affairs. And benefited themselves in the process.

Just as with a parent and a child, he says, “please don’t do that way”, “seek peace and pursue it”, “I do not want to see you get hurt”, listen to my voice so you can live a full, free, productive life, seeing good for all your hard work. Yes! The prophetic evidence alone should be enough for you to see, you are important to him.

I hope some day to see a book, wandering through time, focusing on the blessing that came to those who made sure they were on the right side of Divine Prophecy. Highlighting key events and moments in history that demonstrate Jehovah’s loving hand in bringing us out of corruption and slavery to sin and death and Satan’s wicked system. Such a publication should give hearty evidence of Jehovah undying love and his never changing purpose to have peoples, “a little lower than Angels”, but equally loved. That we might all put full faith and trust in him.

Again I hope this information is useful to you. I apologise if I have repeated myself or possibly given more information than is needed. My goal is not to draw attention to myself, but to draw attention to the truth, as found in God's word and our saviour Christ Jesus.

Making application that I hope is useful in helping you, the reader, on your path to life everlasting. Also to give reason for hope and courage amid difficult situations you may have or possibly will encounter.

For every useful tool you acquire in your personal experience might be then applied to you offspring that all around you will be coherent, and in union, not disjointed in attitude, goal or purpose.

I have been mostly alone on my quest to find the answers, truth, and have no helper with these things.

But I really am never alone, my God has always had his eye upon me for good, he will let me find him. I look forward to our future, mine and his, it is already written, just not beheld for me, as yet! I have no-one to look over these things written, to correct my inadequacies, but may you at least find something personally to fortify you. I am just a voice in the wilderness, hoping in some way I might assist, even a little in preparing the way for my Lord, coming in his Fathers name, to restore all things.

Thanks again for this opportunity, for your time and most of all. The education granted me by Spirit and much long suffering by all I have learned from. And especially the efforts of all those who fought for truth and freedom that comes with knowledge, even with much pain, blood and tears over the centuries, so I could be this close to the living God, as I am today.

May you too recognise the effort and sacrifice many have put forth so we can gain the victory, despite Satan's efforts to distort truth.

He, Jesus and his "holy myriads" will come, "exactly as a thief in the night. only when all prophecy has been fulfilled to his satisfaction and in harmony with his Word.

I wonder how many days remain? I will keep in expectation, he will come with his reward. Till we benefit more fully from his undeserved kindness? For all those hoping on his name?

He will be our hiding place, our refuge and secure hight. may he be yours!

The mash-up! "You must love Jehovah your God, with your whole Heart, Mind, Soul and Strength and keep His Commandments.
